This eBook was created by the Ocean Science Discovery Lab (OSDL) in collaboration with NOAA’s Alaska Fisheries Science Center Kodiak Laboratory and John Malloy from the Kodiak Island Borough School District. The OSDL is part of a program to educate students in Kodiak, Alaska about marine science, focusing on species local to the Kodiak Archipelago. Within the eBook you will find a video produced by the OSDL covering the information presented to students during field trips to the Kodiak Laboratory, along with the worksheets that students use during the field trip. Options for using the video embedded in the eBook: Video plus printed worksheets: A pdf of the worksheets can be found below (keystone_species_worksheet.pdf) and may be printed for students to complete. Video plus questions in the eBook: There are questions in the eBook that students can answer while viewing the video. Students may locate the answers in the video by using the time stamps provided with each question. Video viewed without the eBook: The entire video may be shown separately from the eBook (see the link below) and used in conjunction with print outs of the questions with time stamps.
