Disney’s Jungle Book Kids
|
“Good [afternoon/evening] and welcome everyone! I’m Ms.Pedersen-Smith, North Star Elementary music teacher.
The neighborhood concert we present today is a musical, Disney’s The Jungle Book Kids, adapted from the 1967 Disney cartoon. The cartoon in turn, is based on Rudyard Kipling’s collection of stories, he called, The Jungle Book, published in 1894.
Our musical story, set in the jungles of India, is about an orphaned boy named Mowgli. Found as a baby, by the gentle panther, Bagheera, he is taken in and raised by a Wolf family who love him dearly! Mowgli has a wonderful life in the jungle, until the villainous tiger, Shere Khan enters the picture. This story is about how Mowgli’s jungle friends help him find safety and happiness, because – That’s What Friends Are For!!
North Star students, remember to perform your dances choreographed by 5th grader, Miss Olive Jackson, and be sure to have someone video your performance.
We are grateful to radio station KMXT, 100.1 FM, for broadcasting our show today.”
“The first thing you will hear is the Orchestra Tune-up. This is only about 40 seconds long, so turn your radio volume up, hurry outside to your own yard or deck or porch! Wave to your neighbors, and get ready to dance and SING!!
Come on North Star – We want to HEEEEEAAR you!!”
“Here come Bagheera and Baloo to introduce the 4th Grade Living Jungle, Mowgli, our 1st grade Wolf puppies, and even the terrifying Shere Khan!!”
